Jetski Outing Sep 07 ( 02 Sep 07 )
A well earned rest
Protora Lock
Chillin' at Lusty
Ready to go
Everyone
Where's the steering wheel ?

This year's jetski run was in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care. 23 jetskis, 34 people including 4 kids left Derryadd boat club on a wet Sunday morning and headed up the Erne system through Enniskillen to Lusty Beg island in the Lower lough. The weather picked up later in the day and it turned out to be quite a reasonable day, nearly a 'summer's day' by this years standards ! Anyway everyone made it there and back, with the help of a refuel stop in one piece. Although a bit of 'submarining' near home resulted in a few very wet people ! Thanks to everyone for safely taking part and helping Marie Curie.

The 2006 jet skiers

The Kilmore Jetski Run took place on Sunday 3rd September. The run set off from Derryad in the morning and headed up the lough to Enniskillen. After Protora lock it was a quick run up the Lower Lough until we hit rough water ! Yep, the waves were big, everyone got a good soaking and it was slow going until we got to Tudor Farm for refueling (We won't mention the impromtu excursion to Belleek by some !). It was then a quick run over to Lusty Beg for some well earned food & drink and a good rest for some weary bones. After lunch it was a run back down to Enniskillen, a rest at the Round O and then on to Derryad.

Elaine starts work as Jet test pilot
'I say darling, Elaine seems to be driving a trifle fast'
The boat Elaine is currently testing out

Elaine started today at Kilmore Jetworks as test pilot for the new Seadoo Sportster. Elaine is known around Belfast as a bit of 'speed merchant', she has often been seen speeding around Belfast in her little black number. Davy has seen lots of potential in her as a new test pilot for the new jet boats they are now selling at Kilmore Jetworks.

August Bank Holiday Run ( 31 Aug 05 )
Getting in the water
Passing the Killyhevlin chalets
Going through Enniskillen
Lunch at Lusty Beg, not enough parking spaces !
Negotiating Protara lock
Heading for home

Last year's August bank holiday run from Kilmore Quay to Lusty Beg went extremely well. Despite a bit of a damp start, the weather soon picked up by the time we got as far as Bellanaleck. After a refuelling stop at Tudor Lodge in Kesh we headed over to Lusty Beg for a hearty lunch and some liquid refreshment. After lunch it was a high speed run back down to Kilmore Quay.
